This is the website associated with “Good Woodworking” and “The Woodworker”. It has sections on Tools and Workshop, Projects and Techniques, a Gallery, Forum and Magazines. The Forum gives you the opportunity to read what your fellow woodworkers and woodturners have to say, and you can also join in the discussions, ask questions and give/receive advice.

These guys are based just outside Warrington. They sell logs for fuel, but what can be burnt can be turned. It may be a good place to get logs for hollow forms or natural edge work. I haven’t been yet but it’s on my list of places to visit when I have a day off!
This company provides a wide range of superglues and resins. They are local to us (Runcorn) and whilst they are often at the shows, you can arrange to visit if you give them notice. You can, of course, buy online.
Based in the Cotswolds, Meantime sell a wide range of clock inserts, candleholders, and other giftware for inclusion in your turnings. They often have stands at the major shows and offer an online shopping service.
Karl Tickle’s website. Karl’s company make many of the DVDs we have on offer in out library – Mick Hanbury, Andy Lodge, John Berkeley amongst others. New DVDs featuring the work of Israeli turner Eli Avisera are currently being released.
John’s website has an online shop where you can purchase many items including the Hegner abrasive which ranges from 120 to 1200 grit. I have used these and find them very efficient. John in also one of the only suppliers of 24TPI thread chasers should they take your fancy.
This website contains, amongst other things, a listing of the Register of Professional Turners. You can spend many happy hours here browsing the websites of the famous and not so famous turners.
